A S C E N S I O N
This was a piece that I ended up creating for a client that needed flyers for a Christian gospel choir concert. They wanted to create a scene that depicts the transition of Christ from the cross to heaven. In the scene, Jesus is ascending towards heaven, his face towards the light, while leaving the shadow of the cross behind him.
Aside from using a photo I took a while back of Jasper, Alberta, the digital painting was created entirely from scratch using Adobe Sketch, some custom cloud brushes and various filters.
